STATE ARCHIVE'S SERVICE / RIJKS ARCHIEFDIENST - [English/Dutch]
A Great task: making ALL birth, death and marriage records available to the public. Date of completion; 2004. The GenLias database is being continuously up-dated. You will be given a list by province of the data currently available. The next update will follow in April 2001. No details are currently available for the following provinces: Zuid-Holland, Noord-Holland, Overijssel. Utrecht is currently being processed.

Since 1850, the entire population has been registered. Currently "Family" records [Gezinskaarten 1893-1939] are searchable online. The entire Registry Archive [300,000 cards containing records] went "missing" during the 2nd World War. However the data from the films that were made prior to the War, has been entered into a digital database. Retrieval of information comes at a cost [€ 4.54 per record]

A simple query enables you to consult the Register of Marriage for Rotterdam from the period 1576-1811 and the Registers of Baptism, Marriages and Burials for Delfshaven from the period 1609-1811.
In future, it will also be possible to consult this data for Rotterdam and other incorporated municipalities on the Digital Family Tree. These are: Charlois, Cool, Hillegersberg, Hoogvliet, IJsselmonde, Katendrecht, Kralingen, Overschie, Pernis and Schiebroek. End 2001 you will be able to consult 'Burials in Rotterdam' in the period 1646-1811 on the site.
